MPORTANT AUDUBON ALERT - Saturday, January 24, 2026
Audubon Public Works Department is preparing for substantial snowfall with the upcoming storm system anticipated to begin Saturday evening and through the day Sunday. In response to these conditions, preparations are in full swing preparing our fleet for the salt and snow removal process, making sure the borough roads are safe, passable, and easier to travel. We request that all Audubon residents park their cars in driveways, and not in the street, where possible. This prevents cars from being plowed in and speeds up the snow removal process. If you have room to accommodate your neighbor, please offer it to them.
Depending on the duration and amount of snowfall, Borough trucks may plow your streets several times. As snow rolls off our plows, it will accumulate in driveways.
Please understand that this is unavoidable, and it is the homeowner's responsibility to clear it out.
There are some helpful hints to make snow business less frustrating.
1. Shovel snow to the right side of your driveway, facing the street, to minimize the amount of snow entering your driveway.
2. If possible, wait until the borough trucks have made at least two passes on your street before clearing your driveway.
3. Shovel in or blow snow onto the curb, not into the street.
4. To ensure the safety of pedestrians, residents must remove snow from sidewalks following a snowfall. Please remember that children walk to school all over town.
5. Please check in on your neighbors who may need some help during the storm.
6. There will be changes to the trash collection schedule on Monday and the rest of the week. We will send out more information on trash collection later this weekend. Please be safe.
