CONSTRUCTION UPDATE FOR WEEK OF MARCH 17, 2025

 

Please be advised that starting at 7:00 AM, Monday, March 17, 2025 (weather permitting), there will be a one-way daytime closure of Kings Highway, between 3rd Avenue and Edgewood Avenue, for roadway milling and paving operations. Northbound thru-traffic (driving towards Haddonfield) will be detoured around the work zone. Southbound thru-traffic (driving towards Mount Ephraim) will remain on Kings Highway. A traffic control plan is attached.

 

On Tuesday, March 18th starting at 7:00 AM, there will be a one-way daytime closure of Kings Highway, between White Horse Pike and Edgewood Avenue, for continued roadway milling and paving operations. Northbound thru-traffic (driving towards Haddonfield) will be detoured around the work zone. Southbound thru-traffic (driving towards Mount Ephraim) will remain on Kings Highway. A traffic control plan is attached.

 

Crews will continue working in the work area without detours for Wednesday (March 19th) and Thursday (March 20th) in preparation for the planned traffic switch on Kings Highway between Edgewood Avenue and West Atlantic Avenue to the newly paved side of the roadway.

 

As of right now, the weather forecast for Monday (3/17) is calling for rain most of the day. If the forecast holds and the contractor is unable to work on Monday (3/17), all work described above will be postponed by one-day.

 

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE AS OF MARCH 13, 2025

Please be advised that starting at 7:00 AM tomorrow, March 13, 2025, there will be a one-way closure of Kings Highway, between Amherst Road and White Horse Pike, for sanitary sewer removal and replacement. Southbound thru-traffic (driving towards White Horse Pike) will be detoured around the work zone using Amherst Road and Harvard Road. Northbound thru-traffic (driving towards Haddonfield) will be maintained. The traffic control plan is attached for your reference.

 

Due to the nature of the work and limited roadway width, this closure will need to be in place 24/7 until work is completed. In discussing with the contractor, work is anticipated to take three [3] weeks. Access for residents, emergency vehicles, St. Rose School, and local traffic will be maintained.

Monday March 10 thru Friday March 14, 2025 – No Permit (County Project)

  • Kings Highway – 7:00am to 3:30pm.  South State will be removing and replacing sanitary a sewer main and laterals, there will be a lane shift between East Lake Drive and Thornolden Avenue on the Audubon side.  Asphalt Paving Systems will be performing full depth reclamation, there will be a lane shift between Thornolden Avenue and West Atlantic Avenue on the Haddon Heights side.  Capital Concrete will be removing and replacing curbs, sidewalks, and driveway aprons, there will be shoulder closures at the intersection of Kings Highway and Market Street in Mount Ephraim.  On Wednesday thru Friday, South State will be saw cutting and removing concrete roadway sections, there will be a partial road closure westbound between 4th Avenue and Amherst Road on the Audubon side.

 

Thursday March 13, 2025 – Permit # 25-02073

  • 249 Crystal Lake Avenue – 7:00am to 11:00am.  Pioneer Pipe, on behalf of New Jersey American Water, will be replacing a water service, there will be alternating traffic with flaggers between Hopkins Road & Prospect Avenue.

Monday March 3, 2025 – Permit # 25-02178

  • Hood Avenue – 9:00am to 3:00pm.  Nelson Tree Service, on behalf of PSE&G, will be trimming trees, there will be alternating traffic with flaggers between West Cuthbert Boulevard & Graisbury Avenue.

 

Monday March 3 thru Friday March 7, 2025 – Permit # 25-02176

 

Monday March 3 thru Friday March 7, 2025 – No Permit (County Project)

  • Kings Highway – 7:00am to 3:30pm.  South State will be removing and replacing a sanitary sewer main and laterals and Capital Concrete will be removing and replacing ADA ramps, curbs, sidewalks, and driveway aprons.  There will be a lane shift between East Lake Drive & Thornolden Avenue on the Audubon side.  Also, Asphalt Paving Systems will be performing full depth reclamation with a lane shift between Thornolden Avenue and West Atlantic Avenue on the Haddon Heights side.

 

Thursday March 6, 2025 – Permit # 23-02095

  • 215 East Atlantic Avenue – 9:00am to 3:00pm.  Henkels & McCoy, on behalf of PSE&G, has rescheduled their 4x4 asphalt patch restoration, there will be alternating traffic with flaggers between West Graisbury Avenue & West Pine Street.

 

Friday March 7, 2025 – Permit # 25-02159

  • 40 East Atlantic Avenue – 7:00am to 3:00pm.  Pioneer Pipe, on behalf of New Jersey American Water, will be repairing/replacing a sewer lateral, there will be a full road closure between Capitol Avenue & West Merchant Street.
